september in the japanese school year usually means one thing: school festival. in my opinion, this is the best part of the entire year. students who seem lazy and nonchalant in class surprise you with their talent. the school festival is a testament to the japanese work ethic. an amazing feat of team work turn out the most unbelievable result. at my school, fukui commercial high, the festival is a a combination of a school bazaar, concert and sports day, held over three days.they exhibit not just athletic ability but amazing creativity and artistic skills! see for yourself! there really aren’t any words to describe the talent that these students demonstrate.

i moved to japan about a year ago – packed my life into two suitcases, crossed two oceans and began a new life here. so far, it has been the best decision i could have made in my life thus far.

my true passion in life is design. there’s nothing i love more than designing, and appreciating good design. i have always been a traveler. i say that in the most literal sense since i have been traveling from the age of 1. in moving to asia however, i found that my passion for traveling has been renewed ten-fold.

hence, my reasons for creating this blog. life here has had an amazing impact on my design sensibilities, and i feel that i should share it with the rest of the world. my intent here is to share my travel experiences, and how it has affected/influenced me as a designer.

p.s. i have a strong dislike for capital letters.
